Glen Murray is seriously considering campaigning for Mayor of Toronto, and I’d love for you to have the opportunity to meet him and ask him questions in this casual setting. This is a great way to get a sense of the issues and ideas that will define what is sure to be a hard-fought and important election campaign.
In short, I think it really matters that we elect the right mayor, and I’m excited about what Glen’s candidacy could bring.
If you’ve been to The Ben Wicks before, you’ll know it to be a great atmosphere to enjoy a pint and talk some politics.
Of course, all are welcome to come hang out. See you there!
Chris Tindal

In all the time that I’ve been out meeting my constituents, I don’t think I’ve met a single person who truly dislikes what the Green Party stands for. I’ve met one person who thinks that we are grossly mistaken about how to care for the environment. I’ve met a small number who question the science of climate change. I’ve met a similarly small handful of people who expressed doubts at the Green Party’s readiness for government. I’ve encountered a small minority dedicated to one particular party or another who I haven’t questioned about the reasons for their loyalty. And I’ve met a significant number who either oppose the Green Party or suspect they might vote for another party for strategic reasons, even though they are often at pains to insist that they really support the Green Party, want us in Parliament and wish us luck.
A number of my supporters accompanying me have made the same observation I have: If every person in Toronto-Danforth who said that in his heart he supported the Green Party actually voted Green, I would be sent to Parliament not by a small margin, but by a landslide.
Some of these people ask me to give them my best argument for voting Green, given that it’s very challenging for me to win and even less likely that the Greens will have significant sway in Parliament. Here’s what I say: Read more »

When the Conservatives announced their budget on January 27th, it was a disappointment to those who wanted the government to lead us toward a green economy and future. The voices for environmental reform were no where loud enough or clear enough to mandate the Conservatives to consider the broader implications of their policies, and put Canadians and the environment first. Having a Green Party member sitting in the House of Commons would have made a marked difference, but because of our electoral system, the voices of Green supporters all over Canada are silenced in Ottawa. Now is the time to join with family and friends to celebrate the harvest, to celebrate how lucky we are to live in a country like Canada where we have the democratic right to cast our ballot for whom we choose.
When my family celebrated Thanksgiving Saturday I gave thanks for the bounty of this earth, and also for the bounty of support that the voters in Toronto-Danforth and across the country have given the Green Party this election. The results will be truly historic. Canadians will elect Green MPs. Read more »
