More thoughts on Garth Turner

According to a Globe article I read today at a friend’s house, Mr. Turner favours the traditional definition of marriage.  Disappointing to me.  At the Green Party Convention in August, I introduced a resolution (which was happily adopted overwhelmingly in the first round without any changes) not to agree to any reopening of the same-sex marriage debate.

I suppose that keeping the world from becoming an inferno that supports no human life at all is a priority over worrying about the quality of that life, but it sure would be nice if our first MP also believed in “respect for diversity” and “social justice”, which are fundamental to my own commitment to working for the Green party.

Ah, Garth, may you gain some wisdom outside the Conservative caucus.
