Get wild in Toronto Centre, and my new position

The youth wing of Chris Tindal‘s by-election campaign is organizing a series of reading week volunteer events. It is a series, because university and college campuses across Ontario have their breaks scheduled on different dates, but the idea is the same throughout: canvass, and have fun.

This is, no doubt, a very exciting campaign. And, as Jim Harris could tell you, it is also an amazing opportunity to win the first Green seat.   The victory will be very sweet (or just green?) but will require every bit of volunteering that anyone has to offer. I urge every youth on reading week, and everyone else, to sign up to attend the Greens Gone Wild extravaganza. It’s not just about canvassing, it’s also about creating a strong youth community, discussing Green Party Policies, learning how to run a campaign, and having a lot of fun.

So please check out the website, find us on Facebook, or contact Jason Hammond.

As this video shows, the Green Party youth wing has great influence on election results. The student vote for Ontario’s 2007 election gave GPO 24%.  These are some of the reasons why I decided to put my name forward to become the new Green Party of Ontario Youth Coordinator. And yes, the reason why I’m making this public is that the Provincial Executive elected me for this position over the weekend. I can’t tell you how excited I am.

See you in Toronto-Centre!

    Barbora,

Congratulations on your new Ontario Youth Coordinator position! On behalf of the Young Greens of Canada Council, I can say that we look forward to working with you!

By working together, we can create a seamless opportunity for Young Greens in Ontario to form the core of our progress in both the Provincial and Federal parties.

    Congratulations Barbora.

Barbora embodies, in one wonderful person, both the oldest and youngest member of our Danforth Greens executive, having been involved with the Green Party longer than anyone else in spite of being the youngest person by age.

Barbora, you have a very bright future ahead of you. I look forward to watching it develop.

    Best wishes, A
