Privacy policy
What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you fill out a form on our site. Depending on the form, you may be asked to enter your name, email, phone or address.
We also collect information about website visitors using Google Analytics. This information includes IP address, location, browser, screen resolution, referring site, search terms used, pages visited. You can find an overview of Google Analytics privacy here.
We distribute our newsletter using CampaignMonitor, which collects information about you. This information includes which recipient addresses opened the email, where you were located at the time, which links you clicked, and if you marked the newsletter as spam. The CampaignMonitor.com privacy policy is here.
What do we use your information for?
Form information is used for the following tasks:
- To deliver signs.
- To process donations.
- To coordinate volunteers.
- To distribute a local newsletter.
- To answer questions or respond to feedback.
When you indicate your support of either the federal or provincial parties on this site, by for example requesting a sign, donating, or volunteering, we may follow up with occasional emails. And we may share your information with either the Green Party of Canada, the Green Party of Ontario, or both.
We use visitor and email tracking for marketing purposes:
- Learning the search terms that best draw people to our site.
- Learning what content is most popular with our visitors.
We do not take any personalized actions based on this tracking information, with one exception: if you mark our email as spam, we’ll ask the Green Party of Canada and Green Party of Ontario to remove your name from their email lists.
Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions with each email. We retain a list of unsubscribed emails so that we can avoid inadvertently adding them again.
Embedded and linked sites and scripts
We embed videos from YouTube and Vimeo, which in both cases embeds code from their sites. YouTube’s privacy policy is here. Vimeo’s privacy policy is here.
We use the Facebook fan-page widget and Like button, both of which embed code from Facebook. You can read Facebook’s privacy policy here.
We use the Twitter Tweet button, which embeds code from Twitter. Twitter’s privacy policy is here.
Donations are not processed on this site, but through PayPal, and so the PayPal privacy policy applies if you give them your credit card information. Until you click the PayPal donate button, it is an inactive link.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information. There are a limited number of volunteers given access. Those with access sign appropriate non-disclosure agreements.
We do not collect sensitive/credit information on this site.
We do not use cookies directly, but see embedded sites above.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We are two local riding associations with overlapping executives. The provincial riding association is legally part of the Green Party of Ontario; the federal riding association is legally part of the Green Party of Canada. These two parties are legally separate, but have agreed to share the identification of supporters, volunteers, and donors. Email addresses are not shared between the two parties at this time, but our local email newsletter list draws from both parties.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
