Serving health and wealth
However you start, loving animals or human rights, saving children from the ravages of war or poverty, we all find the same big picture: humans run the planet for better or worse. We must have a process that makes good decisions.
Genuine democracy everywhere checks tyranny: individual people seek more good; organised people do a lot more bad.
A sovereign nation has genuine democracy when it exercises any one of the hundreds of electoral processes that generate a mathematically valid form of proportional representation.
America, Britain and Canada have yet to learn this lesson, so also Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Haiti is hopeless without it. Mexico and the states of Central America are seriously challenged. The world needs genuine democracy, the sooner the better.
Tyranny is self-serving. Genuine democracy is health- and wealth-serving.
The Green Party of Canada understands.
