Waterfront Toronto will host a community update meeting on the West Don Lands. From their announcement:
The meeting will feature an open house and variety of short presentations on projects underway in the area. Community members will also have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
The revitalization of the West Don Lands – a 32 hectare area that runs from Parliament Street in the west to the Don River in the east, and from King Street to the rail corridor – is well underway. The neighbourhood will feature 6,000 new residential units, ample space for employment and commercial uses, at least one elementary school, and two child-care centres – all encircled by 10 hectares of parks and public spaces, and the area will be home to the Athletes’ Village during the Pan/Parapan American Games in 2015.
- Open House from 6:30 – 7:00 p.m.
- Update on waterfront revitalization
- Update and overview of progress in the West Don Lands, including parks and public realm, and the areas that will be used for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games Athletes’ Village
- Question and Answer session
