2021 Sep 12: All-candidates meeting

All-candidates meeting (via Zoom)

The candidates who will be attending are as follows:

• Julie Dabrusin, Liberal Party of Canada.
• Clare Hacksel, New Democratic Party.
• Elizabeth Rowley, Communist Party of Canada.
• Wayne Simmons, People’s Party of Canada.
• Maryem Tollar, Green Party of Canada.
• Liz White, Animal Protection Party of Canada.

The meeting will be hosted by both East End United Regional Ministry and Danforth Jewish Circle — both partners in the Danforth Multifaith Commons at Eastminster on the Danforth.

At the time of writing, I only had the contact information for four candidates but I understand that there are now some additional candidates registered. I will be reaching out to each of them to see if they also want to participate.

The moderator for the meeting will be Chris Bennett. He will be asking questions, to each of the candidates, on the following themes.

• Vision for Toronto-Danforth
• Policies to address pressing urban issues
• Lessons learned from the pandemic for a more equitable society
• Policies to promote reconciliation
• Policies to address climate change

Following this, attendees will have an opportunity to post questions for the candidates in the chat.

It is expected that the meeting will last from 2:30 to 4:00.
