2010 Apr 24: Earth Day event: Clean up the Danforth this Saturday
The Danforth Business Improvement Association (BIA) has invited the Toronto mayoral candidates and Toronto-Danforth council candidates to participate in their annual Earth Day Neighbourhood Clean Up Challenge this upcoming Saturday, 2010 April 24 on the Danforth.
George Smitherman, Rocco Rossi, Rob Ford and other mayoral candidates have each said they’ll be there. Most of the local candidates for council will also be competing, including me. I’m running in Ward 30 against Paula Fletcher with the support of many local Greens (and members of other parties as well).
Each participating candidate and their team would be assigned to a two-block area within the Danforth BIA and 15 minutes to get the clean-up done. The first team to clean-up their area and bring in the most trash bags will be declared the Earth Day Danforth winner!
Join local Greens in the vicinity of the Danforth to help out in a good cause and put our side over the top. Our federal candidate – Adriana Mugnatto-Hamu — will be there. We are to meet in front of Danforth Music Hall on or before 10:30 on Saturday morning.
