Ethiopian Friday
Friday, 2009 May 8, 7:30 pm
Wanza Restaurant, 1352 Danforth Ave
The organizer, Samuel Getachew describes the event as follows:
Hello Friends,
We continue to be inspired by your support for Ethiopian Friday. We will in return try to be current and very informative when we organize each and every Ethiopian Friday event.
Later on this week, on Friday, May 8th, we have guests as diverse as the leader of the Ontario Green Party, Ethiopian Canadian Leaders in the medical fields and so much more. Also we wil mark the International Day of Press Freedom and also the passing of the giant, Dr Tilahun Gessesse.
We are now in the process of giving his CDs to the Toronto Public Library so his music can also be enjoyed by our non Ethiopian friends. At our upcoming event, we urger you to also donate an original CD to this cause.
Most of the inspiration for Ethiopian Friday comes from an idea I took from my experience working on President Obama’s campaign in the United States. The idea of empowering our supporters to have a feeling of ownership of Ethiopian Friday appeals to me a great deal. Please continute to send me your advice and suggestions.
I enjoy reading all of them all.
Stay blessed,
Samuel
