2022 Provincial Candidate: Marcelo Levy
Marcelo Levy is stepping up to tackle the climate crisis while ensuring economic growth and access to social programs for the residents of Toronto—Danforth.
Born in Argentina, Marcelo immigrated to Canada in 1989. Upon his arrival, he began working as a public servant with the Ministry of Natural Resources, which introduced him to environmental activist efforts and inspired him to pursue a Master’s in Environmental Studies at York University. He currently works as a consultant, specializing in ecological compliance in forestry and natural resources, forest biomass and bio-energy, and carbon sequestration and carbon footprint projects. He regularly engages in multi-stakeholder processes involving public and indigenous consultations.
As a result of his professional experience, Marcelo is very aware of the climate crisis. He believes the Ontario government needs to act now on this issue with comprehensive, cross-sectoral policies to promote systemic change.
Active in his community, Marcelo runs a recreational soccer league and is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto and Lakehead University. He is happily married with two children.
Marcelo is keen to put his experience to work at Queen’s Park and be a strong voice for the citizens of Toronto—Danforth.
