November 2006 Toronto volunteers

Fellow Green GTArs,

We have a great opportunity to have our first elected Green Party MP. We need to rally behind Elizabeth May and her team in London to make this happen. Greens across the country are looking to us right now to carry the flag into parliament. As GTArs we can and should mobilize teams to drive out to London and canvas the town. The goal is to hit every resident at least 3 times. Other areas of Ontario are working on this as we speak, so lets show the rest of Ontario and Canada that GTArs mean business and we’ll be there when it counts.

Here’s the plan:

The Election will take place on November the 27th. There are 4 weekends that we will target. I need for you to respond with the date/s that you or someone from your EDA can help. I also need to know whether or not you need transportation. If you have a car and are willing to drive GTArs out to London please let me know those dates and how many Greens you can fit. If you can please respond to this before Tuesday, October the 31st it would help tremendously in organizing. Simply email me with your information in the format below and I’ll incorporate it here.

Update 2006 October 29 — weekday travel — from Adriana
We will be listing people who are going to London on weekdays as well. However, Nick has only promised to coordinate ridesharing on weekends. On weekdays, it’s up to you to get in touch with the people going. Please email me if you arrange this so that I can update the number of spaces available.

Thank-you to everyone who has signed up for GTA car pooling. I will be contacting everyone on the Thursday before the weekend you go. This weekend is our first and I’m heading out with Kevin and Madeleine. I’ll keep you posted.
