The big event in Toronto will be a bullfrog-powered concert in Nathan Philips Square, headlined by Nelly Furtado. Mayor Miller is expected to greet an expected crowd of 10,000 at the stroke of 8 pm, when the lights in the city go down. The event will kick off at 6:45 pm with music provided by DJs.
There are a number of smaller local events throughout the city as well. You can make a lantern in High Park, play glow games in Downsview Park, or enjoy Ojibway stories under the stars and view Saturn through a telescope at the Science Centre. In addition, various yoga studios are offering yoga by candlelight, and some restaurants are serving no-power candlelit dinners.
Have fun and write back to tell us what you did.
