Green paperclip

Charlie has just very cleverly added the green paperclip symbol into the editing options on this site.  From now on, if you see this symbol next to an event or action, it means that all Green Party supporters from Toronto-Danforth will receive the Green Order of Danforth for their participation.

The Green Order of Danforth is, uh, well, a paperclip.  Frequently clipped to a collar or a breast pocket.  But it is a highly symbolic paperclip.  It reflects commitment above and beyond the mediocre, and contributions above the barely adequate.  It is given so rarely that it should take several weeks for you to collect enough to make a decent necklace.  It is an interesting conversation piece.

2006 Nov 15: Next Green Drinks meeting

Looking up when the next Green Drinks meeting was yesterday, I discovered that I had missed it by a day.  On Wednesday I was out campaigning along Pape.  The next one is on November 15.  Since that’s 2 days after the municipal election, I should be available.

Flore Incense

There is a very large box in our living room. Inside is a brand-new colour laser printer donated to the riding association by Nora Wales and Haig Sims, who own Flore Incense, which produces quality incense in their workshop on the Danforth.

Think about that next time you’re at the Big Carrot, which sells Flore products.

Call for language skills or community links

We are embarking on community outreach projects, and hope to participate in community events. We welcome any suggestions. If you speak any community languages or have links to communities in our riding, please contact Adriana at 416-462-3993 or maryann@danforthgreens.ca.
