2007 Jun 20: Green Party of Ontario nomination meeting

The provincial side of Toronto-Danfoth is having its nomination meeting for the upcoming election. Two very enthusiastic candidates, Sharon Howarth and Patrick Kraemer are competing to run in the October 10th election. Frank de Jong, the leader of GPO, will also be there. Please come and support them, and be ready to sign up for a GPO membership if you do not have one yet, in order to help choose the candidate.

Hope to see you there!

2006 Oct 22: Building a provincial Green Party riding association — workshop

We don’t have a provincial Green Party presence in Toronto-Danforth, and it’s time to build one. This is a workshop presented by U of T Alumni Greens and featuring Shane Jolley, who got 15% of the popular vote for the Greens in Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound in the 2006 federal election. It is aimed at building Constituent Assemblies in the GTA, where CAs will have to work together to build a Green presence city-wide.

CA-building Workshop.
Sunday, 2006 October 22, 2pm to 5pm.
Bahen Centre, room 2139,
40 St George St (University of Toronto). Free.

This is a 3-hour workshop, which will be followed by a walk to Kensington Market or Chinatown to enjoy some food together. I would really love to see some people out there from Toronto-Danforth, as we desperately need a Green presence here on the provincial side. Contact Mark Francis at mfrancn228@rogers.com if you’d like to participate.

Friday, 2006 September 22 to Sunday, September 24.

If you aren’t ready to journey up the Bruce Peninsula that weekend, you can hang out on Bain Street in our Toronto-Danforth riding.

2006 Sep 10: Come canvass for Frank de Jong this weekend

Rebecca Smit extends the following invitation:

For anyone who is interested, Frank’s campaign is looking for canvassers this weekend. We’re meeting at Tinto Coffee House, 89 Roncesvalles Ave, at 11:00 on Saturday and on Sunday.

It’s good fun, and easy to do.  There’s no requirement to talk to strangers: you can just put flyers in mailboxes.  Do be cautious on stairs.
